Chiropractic Care
When you think of chiropractic, neck or back pain likely comes to mind. While chiropractic does indeed provide relief from these conditions, it does so much more. Instead of being a quick fix or a bandage solution, chiropractic gets to the root of the problem.
Helping the Body to Function Optimally
Chiropractic aims to locate any areas of stress or interference within the spine as it relates to the nervous system. An adjustment aims to remove or reduce that stress so that the nervous system can function optimally. When that happens, health can be restored, and our bodies can function the way they were designed to.
We understand that many people prefer a light-force adjustment. This technique uses an instrument (the Activator) to deliver a precise and highly effective adjustment. The Activator Method technique is particularly ideal for young children and older adults.
This manual adjusting technique is used to correct misaligned or subluxated spinal joints of the neck or back.
The Webster Technique helps moms-to-be before and during pregnancy to decrease intrauterine constraint so that the baby to get into the best possible birth position. Dr. Brittney received extensive education to become certified in this safe and effective method.
Here are some of the many conditions that can improve with chiropractic care:
- Hip pain/siatica
- Low back pain
- Neck pain
- Heartburn
- Fatigue
- Nausea
- Constipation
- Allergies
- Anxiety
- Asthma
- Breastfeeding difficulties
- Chronic ear infections
- Colic
- Sensory processing disorder
- Sleep issues
Chiropractic care uses spinal adjustment, gentle spinal movement and other non-invasive methods to decrease pain, increase circulation and improve overall health. Chiropractic is a natural alternative to pain medications and potentially risky surgery. Instead of masking pain as medications do, chiropractic care seeks to get to the root cause of an issue, stopping pain at its origin.
An adjustment is the specific movement of joints by a chiropractor. Dr. Brittney provides several different chiropractic adjustment techniques that are tailored to each patient.
Chiropractic care has an excellent track record. This natural form of health care is safe, effective and non-invasive. Some practice members sometimes feel slight soreness following an adjustment. This feeling is similar to what someone may feel after a physical therapy session. We encourage practice members to stay hydrated to diminish any soreness that may occur after an adjustment.
The majority of practice members report immediate relief from symptoms. Chiropractic adjustments can improve circulation, alleviate pinched nerves, reduce inflammation, decrease pain and reduce muscle tension.
The number of adjustments needed depends on the presenting condition, lifestyle and person’s response to care. Every practice member has unique needs, of course, and will require a different number of adjustments. If you have a more severe condition, you may need to be adjusted three times a week for a month followed by one adjustment per week. Other practice members will require fewer adjustments.
There is a broad spectrum of conditions that can benefit from chiropractic care. These include back, neck, shoulder and joint pain; headaches and migraines; fatigue; sciatica; arthritis; herniated discs; degenerative discs; and many more.
